Project

Charlton Close

It’s hard to believe that this fabulous two storey home in the heart of Cheltenham, was once a derelict bungalow. (see some before pictures below)
Our client purchased the site which had permission to demolish the bungalow and replace it with two new houses.
After some discussion and initial feasibility sketches, we set about designing a remodel that would retain the original 4 outside walls but add another storey as well as significantly remodelling the interior spaces.
We retained as many structural walls as we could to reduce construction costs and used our significant construction experience to facilitate the most practical way to add another floor.
The scheme was well received by the local planning authority and neighbours alike.
The final result is a striking spacious modern dwelling complete with a separate two bed annexe and a great outdoor pool and landscaped garden.

Sandy Lane

We worked closely with the client to provide them with their dream home design in this prestigious location in Cheltenham.
The new dwelling replaces the current Mid century style home built in the 1980s. Working with our trusted planning consultants we received full approval to replace the current house with a much larger scheme.
The brief was for a modern take on the Mid century style that had real kerb appeal but afforded the client privacy from the street beyond.

The Pantry

We were approached by our client to turn this tired former Post office building in to a local shop stocking artisan products as well as essentials complete with a café / restaurant serving great food that would be a destination in the heart of the Cotswolds for walkers, tourists and shoppers alike.
Internally we rationalised the layout, proving a new stand-alone chefs kitchen, dining room and shop floor. We extended to provide further shop floor space as well as a new toilet block for café patrons.
Externally we bought the building back to life, with complete re roofing new windows and doors throughout as well as re modelling the first floor to provide useful office space, further dining areas and a meeting room that can be hired upon request.

Stoke Orchard

Formerly the site of a large commercial garage and car sales pitch. We secured permission for its demolition and the erection of 6 new build dwellings in its place. The client brief was that the houses were to be of traditional materials but with a modern layout. Finished in Cotswold stone walling as well as timber cladding, each house benefits from large open plan areas, vaulted ceilings and high specification glazing.
Potential buyers were able to customise the final layouts with some adding in cinema rooms and home gyms.

Whitefriars Court

The owners of this modern house in Cheltenham contacted us to provide some design options for this rear facing Dining room extension.
The brief was that the extension should be of modern appearance but not similar to the already contemporary dwelling.
We presented various design ideas with the chosen scheme being finished in blue engineering brick with Oak window cill detailing, crittal doors and striking feature corner window.
We worked closely with our structural engineer to assure that the corner window and flush glazed rooflights fitted seamlessly in to the new structure.

Plane Tree Barn

Internal re modelling, re ordering and alterations to this Grade II Listed former public house.
Historically a public house which was converted by a former owner in the 1980s somewhat unsympathetically. Our brief was to significantly upgrade the thermal properties of the house, as well as modernise where appropriate, re order the rooms and ensure that new finishes, windows and doors could be integrated in a sympathetic manner.
The result is a striking house that retains all of the charm of its original era but ensures that the occupants live in a modern, environmentally friendly and comfortable home.
